Care Guide

Care Guide

We strive to produce timeless designs with longevity.  We make products to last using natural materials & craftsmanship. The way we care for our garments is just as important.  We use a range of different fibers & that requires its own methods of care and washing.  Here is a guide we hope you useful when caring for your items.

Indigo How to wash;

Overtime the indigo dye will fade, beautifully. Because the indigo does not penetrate through the whole of the cotton in the dying process, there will be colour rub at first. We recommend hand washing any indigo items before wearing. Wash your garment with just a small amount of mild eco detergent, soap nuts or just water on 30 degrees or on a cool setting.

Cotton

The easier fibre to look after. We love cotton for its ability to take dye & retain bright colours with intricate patterns.  Cotton Is natural & biodegradable, its fibres are obtained from the soft seed pods on the plant.

How to wash;

 We recommend hand washing as machine washing could cause fading of the natural dyes. If you would prefer to wash using your machine then set the temperature to 30 degrees at most & with similar colours. Try to wash less frequently to maintain shape, colour & quality.

How to dry & store;

Cotton is best dried flat or hanging to prevent the need of ironing.  Hang your cotton away from direct sunlight to avoid fading.

Linen

Linen is one of the strongest fibers in existence.  It is made from the durable fibers of the flax plant.  Every part of the plant is used in production, down to the seed and oils. Due to its biodegradable qualities linen is popular for its low impact on the environment.

How to wash;

Linen becomes softer with wear & wash.  Wash at 30 degrees or on a cool setting. Linen is a very absorbent fabric, so allow your machine to not be too full to soak up the water properly.

How to dry & store;

We suggest line drying  We like linen for its crumpled, worn in feel but if you would rather non creased then iron your garment inside out and whilst damp – reducing creasing.  Avoid extremely high temperatures, as this can scorch linen fibers.

Make Your Own Eco Detergent

Always use recommended amount of detergent when caring for your clothes. Using too much eventually builds up on the surface of the fabric and causes damage to the fibers.

100% natural ingredients biodegrade after use, unlike popular detergents which contain dozens of potentially harmful ingredients, which linger on clothing & cause skin irritation & are toxic to marine life.
